The Sandia Mountains, just northeast of
Albuquerque, New Mexico, features the
world’s longest aerial tramway, spanning
over 2.7 miles. The tram descends
4,000 feet down the mountain in about
15 minutes. The Sandia Mountains has
four separate ecological life zones due to
its change in elevation and climate. The
area is popular with mountain bikers in
the summer and skiers in the winter.
